Thanks to our friends from The Gazette!

Yesterday night, Kristina Iodice from The Gazette posted an article about our team going to Championships! Kristina has been at numerous events that we have also attended, such as the STEM Boot Camp at USAFA and the presentation to Governor Hickenlooper, and she always mentions our team in the articles covering these events. I contacted her after the Colorado Regional, and she was gracious enough to put an article in the paper! It was posted online last night here, and it will be in the newspaper tomorrow. Thanks so much to Kristina and The Gazette for all of your support!!!!

Hey everyone!
We hosted the Pre-Ship Scrimmage yesterday, and it was a lot of fun! We had about 10-14 teams attend yesterday from all over the state. All of the robots looked awesome! Special thanks to the USAFA Cadet Wing STEM Outreach Club for volunteering, along with all other volunteers who made the scrimmage possible! And thanks to team 3729 for helping take down, as well as teams 662, 2845, and 3403 for letting us borrow some of the field elements. Last thank you’s go to 11 News and The Gazette for covering the Scrimmage!

Greetings Earthlings,
Leah Here. I’ve been working with Lindsey, the Awards VP, on our Chairman’s Award Submission. Currently, we are 500 characters over the limit. We’ve edited it a lot, and a lot, and a lot more, and it’s going. It’s going good. I don’t really know what else to say.
We’re hosting the scrimmage this year! That’s exciting. It’ll be tons of fun! For more details, see my post about details.
Lindsey and I stalked team 2410, and if any of you decided to stalk us, we just wanted you to know that we LOVED your team member page! It was awesome. That is all.
Toodles!

Presentation to Governor John Hickenlooper
VP Community and Media : January 13, 2012 4:00 pm : Community and MediaToday, we had the opportunity to present to Governor John Hickenlooper! United States Air Force Academy Research, one of our sponsors, presented to him about their financial support to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) organizations throughout the city and how it has impacted many lives. They decided to highlight six out of many of these organizations and showcase how they have impacted others, and we were lucky to be one of them! We presented to Governor Hickenlooper about our STEM outreach, and we were able to show him our Logomotion robot! It was a great experience, and we were extremely grateful of this opportunity USAFA provided!
Habitat for Humanity Build Day!
VP Community and Media : December 17, 2011 7:00 pm : Community and MediaHabitat for Humanity is an organization that builds homes using volunteers and then give them to people in need. It’s a great organization, and today, 10 of our 16 years or older members were able to participate in a build day! Unfortunately, we had to go on a first come, first serve basis because we were limited to 10 people, and a lot of the lowerclassmen were jealous of us upperclassmen that were able to participate. We worked two shifts and were able to meet other volunteers from around our community! It was truly a great experience, and we all definitely are going to do this again in the future!
