Game Description:

The objective of Bowled Over is to score points by placing racquet balls in various zones for points. A key aspect of the game is stacking crates, in which racquet balls can be placed, as all balls gain a multiplier based on height off of the ground.  A game changing piece is a 6 pound bowling ball to be manipulated during autonomous and end game periods for a set amount of points based on where the bowling balls are placed.

Design Solution:

The team decided to gain points through placing balls in crates and stacking/lifting the crates as high as possible to maximize points. Manipulating the bowling ball was decided to be secondary in this case as it would be difficult to design a robot that had both the power to push a bowling ball and the speed to collect the maximum number of balls. While still in the prototyping stages, it has been decided that it will be important to move the balls from ground level to a height above the crates. A fence will be built to help guide the bowling ball if sufficient time remains and could double as a crate elevating apparatus.
