FTC Team 3635
Welcome to the FIRST Tech Challenge
FTC is designed for those who want to apply knowledge to a fun hands-on experience. Teams of up to 10 students are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The robot kit is reusable from year-to-year and is programmed using a variety of languages. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Awards are given for the competition as for well as for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishments. –usfirst.org
FRC Team 2996 began an FTC team at Coronado High School its sophomore year, 2010. Intended to be the “JV” team for freshmen, FTC team 3635 has helped several new high-schoolers adjust to the rigors of working with a team. Together team 3635 and 2996 make up Cougars Gone Wired; FTC members contribute to all meetings and community events that FRC attends, and all fundraising benefits both teams. Although team 3635 is essentially a “rookie team” every year, FRC members of 2996 help mentor 3635 as fellow team members.
Interested in joining FTC? The FTC team meets at Coronado High School every week. Want to know more? Contact us for more information at mcleabb@d11.org, or call at (719)-328-3759.
